Jr. Program Manager

Location: Falls Church/Tyson’s Corner (thru the summer) then work from Herndon.

The program manager will manage several small programs from the Falls Church, VA office with 25% local travel to customer sites. The end customer will be State and Local Government Entities where client is the prime contractor. Many of these programs engage the services of subcontractors and will require subcontractor relationship development and maintenance.

The main responsibilities of this program management position include managing costs and program schedules. This may involve earned value tracking and reporting to executive management.

The Program Manager will also be expected to work through contractual issues in a manner that enables client to provide solid technical, schedule, and financial performance to the program. In addition, this position will require experience in writing and delivering IDIQ (Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity) proposals in a quick turn around time to the customer.

Responsible for managing the cost, schedule and technical performance requirements of a program through all phases from inception to completion.

Directs the preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budget and financial terms/conditions of contract.

Ensures that all resources such as engineering, manpower, production and facilities are available to support the program.

Involved in defining program parameters or guiding internal research and development efforts in assigned field.

Works with customers to determine needs, requirements and new business opportunities.

Directs the work of employees assigned to the program from technical and administrative areas.

Qualifications:

BS or BA required with a minimum of 1 year related experience. Business Degree desired.

A minimum of 1 year of program management experience is required.

Experience:

The applicant must have background with experience in program management.

The program management background is desired to have management of development programs State and Local Government and/or DoD customers as well as management of programs as a subcontractor to prime contractors for customers.
