.Net Developer

Location: McLean, VA

Contract to hire

This position requires a minimum of 5 years developing business applications in either the public or private sector. The candidate will work with a team of researchers to design and develop .NET applications in support of multiple federal agencies.

Demonstrated experience with the .NET 1.1 and 2.0 framework is required. The successful candidate will have a thorough understanding of standard life-cycle software development practices, including requirements gathering and analysis, systems design, development, documentation, testing and integration.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

B.S. in computer science, engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree is preferred.

5 or more years of professional experience, with an emphasis on full system life-cycle development and object-oriented analysis and design.

Skilled in Web development using ASP.NET (C#)

Experience using ASP.NET UI controls, 3rd party Web application UI controls, and AJAX technologies

Familiarity with application development using MS Access and VBA

Experience working in a consultant/client environment.

Demonstrated leadership capabilities

Ability to analyze data using Access and Excel

Experience working with relational databases (MS SQL Server 2000/2005 and Oracle 9/10/11) and developing database-driven .NET applications

Understanding of EDI and X12 Standards helpful
